Hello and welcome to Sportsstar’s coverage of Napier’s third T20I between India and New Zealand.
“Even at bat, it was disappointing. We talked about going out and doing our best, taking wickets early. We knew anything could happen if we could get those wickets, but unfortunately the weather. Come on You won’t know until both sides bat it would be a fun game but not at full strength The table was a little unsure if it was a tie or not when it was raining It’s nice to be back to some cricket ODI teams against quality teams like India. Hopefully there are a lot of them in Auckland.”
“Wickets are not easy to hit and I was bowling ready and it paid off. I was bowling ready, trained hard during the World Cup and just followed through with my plan. I always stick to simplicity. Just play hard. The weather is not in our hands, happy with the victory in the series.
It’s all. It was a draw and India won the series 1–0. The referee decided that the game could no longer continue and contacted both teams.
There is no rain now, and the judges are checking. The outfield looks wet and wet, we’ll get confirmation soon.
It is currently raining and if it does not start within the next 20 minutes the match will be cancelled.
The rain had intensified and was now pouring. A lot of rain is expected, but India won’t mind a draw if no further matches are possible.
India equaled Duckworth Lewis (DLS) with a score of 75/4 after nine overs, meaning the game would be drawn if there was no further play. Had India gained one more point, they would have taken the lead and would have had a chance to win the game if not. However, they can still win the series 1-0 if the game ends in a draw. But let’s hope the game restarts and we have a believable ending to end the last game. India needed 86 runs out of 66 balls. Currently being poured.
India was at the same level as the core of the DLS at this stage with a score of 75/4 at the end of nine rounds as Deepak Khuda and Hardik Pandya lingered over India in the rain. When the rain intensified, the players left the field to start over.
Ish Sodhi received a precious scalp from Suryakumar Yadav and it was a timely wicket for New Zealand. Midway through, Surya continued with his back foot and hit Phillips right in the throat. Deepak Khuda joins Captain Hardik Pandya.
Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav are in charge of the chase as the good news is that if DLS plays now India will take the lead but there is no threat of rain yet. Despite losing a wicket, Hardick and Surya maintained a healthy running pace close to 10 overs while the Indian captain drove over the top of the rebound and sucked Tim deep into the middle wicket. The maximum result of Tim Southey. Meanwhile, Surya hits the ball like he always does, beating the bowlers and landing some accurate shots.
Tim Southey gave India all sorts of trouble and the Indian rookies were guilty of throwing their wickets. Obviously, rain can affect the outcome of the series and India needs to go over 30 rounds without conceding a single goal in 5 rounds in case DLS comes into play. However, the Blues ended up in a hole that caused them to lose three fast wickets. Pant died from a sloppy throw when the keeper cut short Isha Sodhi in the third, before Southey put the short on Shreyas Iyer. The substitute New Zealand skipper soon opened the ball and streaked past Ayer, who was clumsily trying to defend, but when he slipped, he aimed it at Nisham. Hardik Pandya joins Suryakumar Yadav.
Adam Milne batted and Ishan Kishan was killed trying to get a fast pitcher into the stands. The batsman was hit on the shoulder and Ishan responded appropriately, breaking Milne over the line from the middle wicket. However, Ishan went down trying to suck Milne through the deep square foot boundary, but couldn’t get away from Chapman, who had thought hard about catching near the fence.
With Rishab Pant and Ishan Kishan in the center, the Indian rookie will start chasing 161. Rains are expected in the evening and the first five games will be crucial for India as the DLS will likely come into play as the game progresses. Tim Southey will work with the new ball. like this!
Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh scored a stunning four overs to beat New Zealand 160 in 19.4 overs. Shared eight gates with Arshdeep. New Zealand conceded 8 wickets in 30 overs and that summed up the good performance of the Indian Pacers.
Siraj and Arshdeep knocked down the high-flying New Zealanders with four wickets as New Zealand slipped from a strong position and the home team conceded six wickets in just three runs, a remarkable turnaround from India. Backed by half a century from Phillips and Conway, New Zealand were on track to score at least 180 but Siraj and Arshdeep broke the middle order by sharing eight wickets. Arshdeep ended with numbers 4-0-37-4.
Mohammed Siraj and four wickets stalled New Zealand’s game when Arshdeep Singh took his second wicket. New Zealand were in a strong position but lost wickets in the cluster and lost the lead, a brilliant spell of fast bowlers. Siraj served very well for the death, finishing 4-0-17-4 which was fantastic.
Siraj hit the ball and he was great in all three phases of the game. This time a fast bowler hit a short ball and Phillips tried to make a short but eventually won when Bhuvneshwar Kumar got hit by the ball. Siraj broke the stands by 86 which was an important wicket for India.
Glenn Phillips smashed a brilliant half century while New Zealand’s planned attack shook India. Phillips is claiming 168.75 for wickets and five wickets, with Harshall Patel yet to pick a wicket. The partnership, worth 85 runs for 58 balls, got New Zealand back on track and ready to finish.
Devon Conway had half a century, which is a remarkable fifty given the circumstances New Zealand is in, and the partnership has ballooned to 72 years. Phillips quietly inflicted damage as he neared his half-century of age when Bhuvneshwar Kumar was sidelined. The swing bowler finished with the numbers 4-0-35-0. With eight wickets in the last six overs, New Zealand set the stage for the cleaners.
Yuzvendra Chahal completed his third over and the spinner was expensive and had yet to take a wicket and influence the game. Phillips and Conway’s collaboration allowed a 50-game partnership to play 43 courses. Chahal was expensive as the spinner missed 35 runs in three overs and India needs to break the stand.
Mohammad Siraj was back on the attack and although New Zealand didn’t go out, India would be looking for a couple of wickets with Siraj acting in the middle. The field turned and he raced towards the field, hitting the deck and forcing the batsman.
Conway and Phillips were trying to get off the hook and Harshall Patel, who had taken over from Washington Sundar, was brought in to attack and the middle ranger started six runs in his first game. An important run of the game as batsmen would be tough in the last four overs and with only 17 runs, India would need wickets to cap the points. Hardick will be pleased with how the game has gone so far but the wicket will be key and Chahal will be key as the New Zealand batsmen look aggressive.
Deepak Khuda was brought in to attack and the all-rounder got off to a good start, running only three tries. Yuzvendra Chahal worked the other way as New Zealand faced a spin test. Two completely different spinners, such as Khuda, will mix the serve, and Chahal with his orthodox leg spin. It will be interesting to see how Phillips and Conway approach Indian spinners.
Mohammad Siraj immediately took a wicket on his second ball after being put on the attack, leaving the dangerous Chapman. Pitching long, Chapman wanted to play wide, but he cut off the bat early when the ball went forward and Arshdeep Singh got under the captain.
Devon Conway decided to attack and tear Arshdeep Singh and beat the bowlers by 19 to move the New Zealand card. After clearing the middle wicket boundary, winning a six on extra cover and hitting the boundary line over the bowler’s head, New Zealand entered the fray.
Mark Chapman joined Devin Conway, who finally came out on top after eight deliveries. Bhuvneshwar Kumar asked tough questions and tried to frustrate Conway by moving the ball in both directions. It’s good to start with India.
Batting Arshdeep Singh, he has a habit of opening the gate when he first enters the field. Throwing the ball with full force, swinging his right arm, Allen throws the back line, misses the ball and looks vertically. The dough wanted to revise, but decided not to. As Ravi Shastri said on the radio: “Get down, don’t get up!” India struck early and Arshdeep secured the breakthrough.
Finn Allen had only four tries left, and Devon Conway hadn’t finished yet. Bhuvneshwar started with a neat shot with a small swing, but the lines and length were on point. With the pitches long hidden, the Indian bowlers will be hoping for some help from the ground and an early break in the series decider.
The Indians crowded around the team, Hardik Pandya was talking animatedly and went out to the New Zealand newcomer Devon Conway with Finn Allen. In India, swing specialist Bhuvneshwar Kumar will start playing with a new ball.
The Indians are out and they’re coming back because the judges dragged them back into the barn because super vampires are walking around.
“We have to give credit to SKY. It was a special sight because of the stumps. It was a special inning. I don’t have outfielders. It’s hard to convey.”
I am very pleased with our performance in the last game, this is the first game after the World Cup, it is very nice to see the mentality of each player. Everyone came with positive intentions, everyone gave it their all and it was a great game for us. The conditions here have always been like this, there was a lot of play for Indian first graders in New Zealand. We don’t really like rain, we know how to turn it on when the game starts, we, as pros, know how to turn it on and off. We’ll see if the game goes ahead and we’ll do our best.
The lid was opened and the rain stopped in Napier. The gardeners have removed almost all the cover and we are all ready to start playing.
The rain is back and now it’s drizzling. At McLean Park in Napier, gardeners quickly put the covers back in place. Let’s hope this passes quickly while we have a full game left.
Indian skipper Hardik Pandya was happy to lose the draw as he wanted to play first. Tim Southey really got some attention after he won the toss and decided to bat first because it was raining all around and DLS was coming into play.
Ajay Jadeja, who inspected the field, felt that the grass would help batsmen and the field was not a threat, calling the track a “cover” for batsmen.
Well, looking at the situation, India had two spinners in Yuzvendra Chahal and Deepak Hood, the wagon did a good job of keeping his place and India looked to win the series 2-0.
Anyway, we wanted to go bowling first, so we got what we wanted. I think the field will stay the same for 40 games, but if there is grass on it, our walkers can move to the side. We’re mindful of size, but we’re making bowling skill sets. We cannot take into account too many conditions. One substitution, Harshal replaced Washington Sundar.
“We’re going to hit. It looks like the field we can run on a plate. We can’t control the weather, but the history of the field shows good playing conditions. We didn’t have the best result that evening, but thanks to At Sky. Mark Chapman came in right away. You look back and see what we can improve as a team.”
New Zealand starting lineup: Finn Allen, Devon Conway (women), Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, James Nisham, Mitchell Santner, Adam Milne, Ish Sodie, Tim Southey (center), Locky Ferguson.
India Playing XI: Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant (w), Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya (w), Deepak Hooda, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal
The field has been closed for the last few hours. It looks like a belt, is stiff and doesn’t hold much moisture. The side edges are very small. The grass is evenly covered, so the bounce is likely to be spongy, which will help the spinners get hooked. The captain who wins the toss will want to chase
The sun came out and the blanket slowly slipped off. The throw was delayed and our game could have been abandoned if the throw had not been made earlier. We are waiting for official confirmation when the draw will take place.
It’s not raining right now, we’ll check soon. The good news is that the sun is out and we should be running soon.
I’m an all-around batter so scoring is very important, but I also try to bowl and want to be involved when the team needs me. I’ve been a versatile player since my debut and have been bowling hard for the last 3 months even though I didn’t make the team. I want to hit the ball at 5, we have a legend playing at 3, I have to be realistic, I can’t hit that spot (smile). Fitting into 5 or 6 hits is sometimes problematic, but I fulfilled this role because I am a useful player and have to play as the game progresses.
The draw has been postponed in Napier, but the good news is that it’s not raining right now. The field is closed, the players are warming up.
Great news guys! At the moment there is absolutely no rain, and the players from both camps are training on the field. We’re just throwing up time. According to Simon Doulle, this is a sand-based outfield that drains very well and is dry. Let’s hope it stays that way.
Well, the weather in Napier was not that rainy, but the conditions for playing cricket were not favorable, as it was raining a little. Cover securely, and 20 minutes to toss. Crossed fingers.
